The Void (2019)
The Void explores my sustained interest in the relationship between memory, death and the inanimate. More specifically, it questions the so called “invisible aura” of a space and whether it is possible for the memory of a site’s past to emanate from within.
The photographs were captured inside an inhabitable, recently abandoned council house in Hampshire. The name of the project is directly linked to the properties categorisation as a “Void”.
Notably, the day after I entered the space, its entire contents was cleared and emptied into a skip. My photographs and a few salvaged objects are all that remain.
